About Me| Coping with Disability

15:00

Hello everyone!

If you've been following me for a while now you'll know that I’ve been in a wheelchair now for over 2 years and since then my life has changed drastically. I’ve had to learn how to cope with pain and essentially teach myself how to walk against the pain. I’ve managed to start back at school and I’ve became more independent going out with friends more often. I’ve started to walk more with support and I can now walk short distances without any sort of aid and stand comfortably in one spot! My pain is much the same as it’s been which in my case is good because staying the same means I’m not getting worse. I try to do as much exercise as possible by walking as much as I can handle without hurting myself. My boyfriend has been the best support for me through my process and he has helped me to improve immensely.

Makeup and fashion have also helped me to gain so much confidence and they are part of the reason I had the strength to push myself to where I am today, the way I feel when I have on a killer outfit and my makeup is in point is amazing! I feel like I’m on top of the world, and as I like to say “lipstick and heels are all a girl needs to rule the world”.

I’m so happy with how I’m coping with my disability as of right now, of course in the future I hope to further improve but right now I’m content with my progress and I couldn’t ask more of myself!

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you did feel free to let me know in the comments or on social media!

  1. That outfit is gorgeous! You're right, I think sometimes a cute outfit and lipstick can work wonders, and it should never be dismissed as superficial or silly.
